Clients
A Matrix client is the app you use to chat on Matrix. Like we discussed earlier, one of the best parts of Matrix is being able to use any client you want!
While all clients can connect and text other users, clients can offer different:
- Interface / UI (how they look)
- Feature support (custom emojis, voice chat, threads)
- Platform support (web, PC, iOS)
Popular Matrix Clients
Luckily for us, Matrix.org actually features a full list of all known Matrix clients. You are encouraged to play around and experiment with whichever clients you like best.

Which should I use?
If you’re not somebody who likes to tinker and experiment, two of the most feature-rich clients are Element and Cinny. I recommend trying them both out and seeing how they feel.
Element and Cinny are both available as websites you can access and use as a full client from the browser. Cinny does not currently offer voice-chat functionality.
